Morning 3-hour workshops

Agile Delivery Performance

with Niall McShane

A session focused on how managers, team leads and executives encourage and quantify value from an expensive "transformation".

Recent research indicates that organizational agility is a top-three priority in 70% of large companies, and nearly 40 percent are currently conducting an organizational-agility transformation.

There is now an industry shift from starting Agile transformations to assuring that the agile delivery system is optimised and performing. This session will help you to understand and to start to implement and optimise agile delivery performance.

A taste of LeSS

with Venky Krishnamurthy

A scaling approach that is rooted in Scrum with Australia's only LeSS Certified Trainer. Find out if LeSS might be right for you.

Venky will help you to explore the LeSS approach to scaling Scrum by applying the principles, purpose, elements, and elegance of Scrum in a large-scale context, as simply as possible.

True to the tradition of LAST, this will be an experiential session where we favour participation and discussion over presentation (there might still be some slides) so in that contexxt Venky has put together some activities to give us an introduction to LeSS and facilitate learning and further avenues for exploration.

Innovate like a startup

with Pilar Esteban

Innovating within a business, either an established business or a startup is not about “building a car iteratively”. It’s about answering the question “What is the best way to go from A to B” and learning in each iteration.

  • Are you trying to define the right strategy for your business unit or startup?
  • Are you worried about getting customers and finding product market- fit?
  • Want to de-risk your next steps?

This workshop will help you understand how to get your customers onboard, de-risk your business ideas, and use the learnings to define your next steps.
People who are at a startup now, people who want to create a startup and those who work at more established, larger companies who want to be more innovative, can benefit from this workshop.

Director of Product, Design and Collaboration at Everest Engineering
Pilar Esteban has more than 20 years of experience driving innovation globally. At Everest, she helps startups, scale ups and corporations to innovate and build successful products. She has been involved in a broad range of innovative projects first in Europe and Australia, founded her own startup and spent 5 years in BCG Digital Ventures helping corporates to build successful innovative business in different industries and countries across the APAC region.

Afternoon 3-hour workshops

Expert Product Strategy

with Brendan Marsh

Create a product strategy from scratch, by delving into signals you are seeing from your business, your customers, your product and the market. It's aimed at Product Managers and business/product leaders, who have a good insight into these signals.

Come learn from a Product Manager who worked through Spotify's hyper-growth period.

Please note: This workshop is 3.5 to 4 hours long which may mean a slightly earlier start slightly shorter lunch) and possible later finish.

Successful Transformations

with Alexandra Stokes & Tony Fifoot

Alex and Tony, founders of ReBoot Co. have been part of many Transformations, both as senior technology leaders and consultants and coaches. Join them for a Transformation simulation workshop that comes from the good bones of agile, and will allow you to plan and execute your Transformation without succumbing to the scaling frameworks. Learn how we can leverage the approaches, tools and techniques honed from several decades of experience, and improve the outcomes you need to achieve for your organisation.

Agile Leadership

with Aurelien Marando & Ferzeen Anis

Many books have been written about leadership, and a few of them have begun to inspect what "agile leadership" is. We're going to look more closely at what agility brings to the equation for leaders.

In this immersive, intensive module we bring together the concepts of strategic leadership and business agility, to help leaders of agile organisations identify how they themselves may evolve, to lead their people through complexity and change.

Through the exercises and reflections in this module, participants should be able to leverage people leadership skills alongside their business leadership skills to enable their teams and entire organisations to embrace an agile mindset and agile ways of working.
