Signal Not Noise Conference
More signal, less noise. Focus on what matters.
Β
LAST is becoming Signal Not Noise
A message for the LAST community
If you've been part of LAST Conference over the years β as a participant, session leader, or supporter β this message is for you.
What's happening
LAST Conference is evolving into Signal Not Noise Conference. Same team, same values, same commitment to practitioners learning from practitioners. Just a name that better reflects what we've been building together.
Why Signal Not Noise?
Since 2012, LAST has been about one thing: practitioners sharing what they've learned from doing the work. We've tried to avoid vendor pitches, and over-zealous frameworks, to focus on people showing what works and what doesn't.
The challenge? We formed from a shared interest in lean, agile and systems thinking communities. That can limit us because people might not realise LAST is for them. They see "LAST" and think it's not relevant to their work, even though the content absolutely is.
Signal Not Noise makes our mission clear: we help you filter out the noise and focus on what matters. Practical insights from practitioners doing the work.
What's changing
The name and positioning
Signal Not Noise Practitioner's Conference β making it clear we deliver valuable insights from practitioners across digital disciplines.
Broader welcome
We're actively reaching out to Product, Design, Data, Engineering, and other digital communities to let them know this is for them too.
What's staying the same
- Same team, same values, same commitment to substance
- Practitioner-focused content from people doing the work
- Cross-functional learning and collaboration
- Affordable, accessible, community-driven approach
- Strong connection to lean, agile, and systems thinking principles
- All the things that made LAST worth being part of
Your questions answered
Is this still "my conference"?
Yes. We're expanding who we welcome, not changing who we are. The practitioner-focused, community-driven approach you've valued isn't going anywhere.
Will the content still be relevant to my work?
Absolutely. We're adding more disciplines and perspectives, which makes the content richer and more valuable for everyone.
What about the lean, agile, and systems thinking focus?
Those principles remain foundational to how we think about building products and teams. We're just not limiting participation to people who identify with those specific labels.
How can I stay involved?
Same as always β attend conferences, lead sessions, share your experiences, and be part of the community. Nothing about how you participate is changing.
The timeline
Adelaide (May 2026): First conference under the Signal Not Noise name
Other cities: Each location will transition through 2026
LAST Club: For now, this continues as is, with ongoing sessions and access to the content library
What this means for you
At future conferences:
- You'll be taking part in Signal Not Noise Conference [City]
- Same practitioner and community focus you've valued
- Same type of content and connections
- Broader range of practitioners across more disciplines
- Same community spirit, wider tent
Right now:
Nothing changes immediately. Process this information, think about how it lands, and reach out if you have questions, but also if you have ideas!
Looking forward
LAST has been an incredible community-driven effort since 2012, and you've been part of that journey. Signal Not Noise is us staying true to those practitioner-focused values while opening the door wider to people who need what we offer.
Whether you've been with us since the beginning or joined more recently, thank you for being part of this community. We hope you'll continue the journey with us as Signal Not Noise.
