Engineering Job Architecture

Join Adel in this presentation about her approach to authoring Job Architectures at Zendesk Engineering. Adel will explain how creating a true job architecture includes the whole professional person i.e the technical requirements as well as  human attributes such as communication skills, relationships and empathy.

Job Architectures should have a general section that applies to all jobs and then a specific section for each job level. The general sections are those attributes that all employees at any level are expected to demonstrate whereas the specific job level sections describe the technical expectations at that level.

Adel will explain how good job architectures include all the attributes that management value and factor when considering a person for promotion.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout the session and an open discussion at the end.

Adel Smee is an Engineering Manager at Zendesk.
